Evict your inner critic.

Evict the voice of your inner critic & notice the shift in your mindset. 

Today, instead of resisting the voice of my inner critic, I paused, took a few cleansing breaths, and thought ‘What the heck, let's see what she’s got to say.’

Do I even want to listen to or put any energy toward the story she’s telling me about how I “shouldn’t” have eaten that extra piece of pizza or indulged in chocolate? 

Absolutely not!

Who does she think she is, trying to come in on a Monday morning & disrupt all the soul care & self compassion I work daily to cultivate & embrace for the care of my whole body?! 

To be completely honest, not long ago I would have allowed myself to listen & let the story play out over & over & over again until I was a ball of anxiety, with belly clenched & hands sweating. 

Instead of carrying guilt, I would be punishing myself with a run & restricting how I nourish my body.

Instead, I practiced my daily gratitude, tended to my nervous system, meditated & moved my body with joy & intention. 

Because of the deep discovery work & ongoing self care I practice, my authentic self is proud and humbled that I no longer need that inner critic to protect me.

Instead, I have the tools, support & self compassion to let her go – to close that door & allow myself to grow, heal & forgive. 

The feeling of freedom, empowerment & pure joy within me because I took action and evicted the voice is truly life changing. My hope is to share my experiences of journey & peace of mind with you.
